I live in a weak 4G area and only have the option to turn off all data on my phone, which allows me to keep a 2G signal for voice calls. I use Wifi at home and was looking for an app that will turn off the data portion of the phone when on Wifi. Has anyone see such an app?
Thanks

Just so I make sure I understand you....

You want an app that will switch data off when you're connected to wifi, and turn data back on when you have no wifi connection? Android pretty much does this all on its own already. Leave wifi enabled and as soon as you're connected to a hotspot, Android will use that for data transfer instead of cellular data (4G/3G/2G). You can also just turn your data connection off through your phone's settings when you're connected to wifi. On one of my previous phones I used Power Toggles (it used to be free in the Play store, but I haven't used it in a couple years) so I could have a widget on my homescreen to do something similar, so that's another option

What kind of phone do you have?

True, but cell data will still run in the background while you're connected to WiFi. Now and then people report excessive data usage despite WiFi.

Maybe I should clarify; our area has one weak 4G cell site with several 2G sites closer. I only have the option on my phone to turn off the "data" and when I do it displays "E" in place of 4G but the phone will not drop out of service in this mode. I would like to find an app that "turns off the data" when on Wifi then puts it back in normal mode afterwards.
