Mine is set to around 40% brightness all day. Should I be using auto instead for better battery?

When I'm in the house, mine is set to 15% or 20% - tht's plenty bright for me, and these eyes are 76 years old. (That's 15% or 20% actual brightness - I tell Android Assistant to set it. That's about halfway on the brightness slider.)

15-20 is halfway on the slider? Wouldn't that be 50? How do you see an actual numerical value?

 it depends of your preferences and how powerful is the Phn battery..
on my case: I've an old Sam-Gs7 use to work ok with Auto Brightness
setting, but after Upgrade To Oreo the Automatic brightness level

it look blurry, so using manual setting at 50% works
great..So if you've enough battery by the End of the day
stay with 40% until decide otherwise -Assess other replies-

I just told Google to set brightness to 100 and it wasn't near the halfway mark on the slider. Is it not 0-100?

@DanielLo..just curious. How did you manage to get Google
Set up your Phone screen brightness. Thru the oK Google
voice command or witch method is used, share it..?

Sounds like Google App is off for the Note 9. I'm running Google Beta though so that could be the difference but common sense... 100% is all the way to right of slider and 50% is going to be half. I just did it on my phone and shows correct.

If I use Bixby for my screen brightness usually and is exactly same. Try Bixby and see if it's different for you.

When I tell Bixby or Google to set the brightness, I'll usually say. "Set brightness to 50%" or. "Increase brightness 20%" and either way works. In most cases mine is about half way on the slider most of the day.
