Auto Correct Gone Crazy?

I have had this problem for a couple months now. Every time I go to type even the simplest words even if they are already correct, the Auto Correct changes them to some other word I don't want or is not even spelled right.

For example when I type the it wants to correct it to "tus" but as stopped doing that right now.

Auto correct also wants to give me bigger words when I don't want them or phrases. When I type "around" it corrects it to "around the clock"

No idea what happened it just started doing this over night for some reason and about a month after i updated to Gingerbread.

Look below the "z" key on your keyboard. Is it set to "EN" for English, or "es" for Spanish?

Go to your "Touch Input Settings" (assuming you have the stock keyboard), and first ensure that you have "none" selected on the "Bilingual prediction" option. You can also go into your "Personal dictionary" and edit the auto suggest words.
