Auto-Preview camera shot after taking picture?

Is there any way to make the camera show the picture that was taken, for say 2 seconds after shooting it?

If not, any 3rd party camera apps do that?

If so, any issues or downsides of using a 3rd party camera app?

Do 3rd party camera apps fully utilize the hardware and all of its features?

Thanks,
Mike

hmmm not sure mate. Instagram shows the image after you take it. You just have to press back to get back to the camera.

I've been wondering though when you take a picture with flash on how long does it normally take? When I take a picture with flash the flash is usually on for like 4 seconds and then it takes the picture. It really makes me look like an idiot in front of my friends. That plus the actual camera noise makes me look terribly stupid when taking a picture in public

I agree 100% about the flash thing, not sure how a long flash before the shot is a help. I did feel stupid taking it. I'll have to practice before the next public photo.

the phone takes 20 pics in bust mode faster than it takes one with flash on. That my friend is a problem. Have someone smiling for 5 seconds while your phone has the flash on is absolutely ed and makes you feel incredibly stupid and could possibly hurt their eyes.

i have had complaints from friends that i have taken pictures of. they complain that the flash bothers their eyes.

i love how it handles low-light photos, i just wish that the lag between pressing the shutter button, and taking the actual photo was less. as it is, non-flash photos are nearly instant, but if you have the flash on, it drags the photo out to 5 seconds easily. it's a bit awkward.

great camera though.

i'd also like to know if there is any way of previewing the picture after you take it without manually pressing the button to do so. just seems like a simple enough feature to be included already.

lastly, can someone please answer the instagram question. i'd really like to know how well it handles the camera on the S3. would be sad if the photography power was left on the table :(

Same here. This flash always hurts my eyes.

As for instagram. I like it. Some say it degrades the picture quality but I haven't noticed it. Also if you don't like using the instagram camera you can use the Samsung camera in the instagram app. You just won't have the ability to use a filter I believe

Buy an slr camera then, you are being unrealistic.
Its a phone at the end of the day
I have a decent slr its basically. The same thing?
So if you are holding a huge camera would that make you feel stupid? If so then dont take pics?

I noticed when you use the Instagram camera it is lower quality for some reason. But if you use the phone camera you can use filters by sharing it on Instagram. :)

Alright there cowgirl don't get your panties in a bunch. It's called exaggerating... using hyperboles to get your point across. Damn. It didn't even get that serious. You're about to cry over something so simple. So no ij won't go spend hundreds of dollars on a stupid slr to take pictures. I don't even take pictures that much but when I do and I have flash on and I know how capable this phone is and how much I paid for it then I expect it to perform at its best level. And it can definitely take a picture with flash on faster than it does now.

Did you ever find a way, or a good app for the auto-preview? I just got my phone the other day and I can't stand that it doesn't have that for an option. Guy at t-mobile gave me the line that it's because the camera is so fast  Well, my expensive professional camera is super fast and will still give me an auto-preview. I was disappointed last night to snap some photos only to walk away and look at them and find them blurry. :(

nope, never did.

Actually my current project is to see if there is a replacement gallery that is faster and doesn't bog down: I guess I have too many pictures on my phone at too high a resolution to gallery thumbnail them with reasonable speed.

You might want to check out wonder share powercam. I've tried tons of camera apps. So far I really like this one. The flash is quick, it takes about 2 seconds to process the photo then shows you the preview (which can be turned off or on in the settings) As for a gallery, I haven't found anything I like better than quickpic yet. Hope one of those is what you're looking for..

Thanks for the tips.

wonder share powercam isn't working on my S3. Every time I take a picture, the preview is white noise. I did disable auto-effects in the settings. Odd

Oh yeah... That happened to me too. Sorry I forgot to tell u about that. Go in and change the resolution on the camera to the highest setting. Then it should work fine. I read the reviews to see if it happened to anyone else and someone posted that solution. It worked. Seems to just be a GSlll issue.. It is weird.

Thanks for the tip. I was going to uninstall it tomorrow, but I think I'll keep it around!

Thanks!

Your welcome.. I wasn't sure if I was going to keep it either but hung on to it. I find myself going to that one over the stock camera most every time. If u like taking pics another app u might want to get is Perfectly Clear. I don't usually buy apps but took a chance on this one and wouldn't give it up for anything. You can send the pics from your gallery and it "fixes" them. It shows u the before and after picture as it processes it. Quite impressive..

I find that when you have the flash on and you tap the screen right before you take the picture then hit the button, it takes the picture right away there is no delay... hope that helps!
