Ok......so this is coming from a former blackberry user.

Is there a way to auto replace words in Android or on the X? Is there an add on that i can download? So far, I have had no luck.

This is what I mean.

If you type XXX it replaces it with XXX

example.

Ill = I'll
i = I
wed = we'd

etc.....

This was an awesome feature and time saver on the BB OS, just wondering if there is a way to do it on the X.

thanks!!!

Yea, I have been wondering this too because I hate that the multi-touch keyboard doesn't Auto-Cap the word "I" in the middle of a sentence. I also liked that BB capitalized names and automatically had everyone from your contacts in your dictionary. Food for thought for later development.

I think swype is capable of this. Although one feature that really bugs me is that about 3/4 of the time I like the autospacing, but 1/4 of the time, I want to make a compound word made of other words, and autospacing makes it very hard to do that. :(

Yeah swype definitely auto corrects your words and adds an apostrophe to compounded words. example: swype in "ill" and it corrects to I'll. I also have mine setup to put in a space after each word, it definitely helps.

Yeah, the Moto keyboard should most definitely make "i" into "I". It really annoys me.

Yea, I'm fine with swype doing it, I would just like the option on multi-touch. One of my issues with swype sometimes is I don't like the feel of the landscape keyboard vs multi-touch. The MT keyboard is just so roomy in landscape!

Yeah, the swype keyboard does it, just was looking for the multitouch to do it.

Another great option on both of those keyboards, would be the "return" key. I'd love to add a line character return when typing sometimes. Haven't found a way to do it.

I'd like to resurrect this thread. I too am a recent BB convert to the Galaxy Nexu. I had my own dictionary of shortcuts or auto replace items, like typing "wi" would automatically be replaced by "with", "wo" would yield "without", and "hag" would be replaced by "have a good weekend!" I can't find anything that will do the same - and the prompting by SwiftKey, etc. isn't the same. Anyone know a solution?

Bump. I'm really wondering how to do this and spent hours researching. I have only found the option to add a new keyboard. Is it not possible with the samsung s3 keyboard?

I want to change ...
u = you
ull = you'll

Resurrecting this thread!! Really want to be able to let certain words be auto-replaced, preferably with Google Keyboard.
