Auto-rotate/Portrait not working properly?

So I don't know if this is normal on the N8 but with my Note 5 it doesn't do that. If I'm on auto rotate mode and I have my phone on landscape mode while on any app, and I decide to lock it back to Portrait, the app (Facebook, internet browser, any app)does not go back to Portrait, it stays locked on wide screen, landscape mode. I have to switch to auto rotate again to be able to bring the app back to normal. On my note 5 when I do the same, the app goes back to Portrait without an issue. Has anyone else noticed this?
