All screens except for the home screen auto-rotate to landscape view when the phone is turned sideways. I have the auto-rotate option checked in display settings. On occasion I have actually seen the home screen in landscape view when the phone was sitting face up on a flat surface but as soon as I pick it up it goes back to portrait view and I cannot make it go back to landscape. Any insight is appreciated. This is driving me nuts.

I installed the Apex launcher so I could have a landscape home screen. Stock doesn't allow it.

Thing is I have seen the home screen in landscape a couple of times when the phone was face up on a flat surface so I know it has the capability to do it. But as soon as you pick the phone up it goes back to portrait.

Android in stock form does not allow the home screen to be viewed in landscape on phones. You can download apps or launchers that will force landscape orientation when on the home screen.

I'm just telling ya that I have seen the home screen in landscape with my own two eyes so I know it has the capability. I'm totally stock and not drinking or seeing things. Verizon phone btw.

Was the previous screen in landscape? I'm guessing the transition from the previous screen to the home screen caused it to show landscape temporarily until default orientation kicked in.

Could have been but I really can't remember. I've been trying to duplicate it with no luck. I'll try to take a screen shot next time it happens.
