Auto Screen Dim app??

After spending some time searching for this one specific app..i found nothing so I figured I would ask here.
As a previous iPhone owner I had an app from Cydia called Screen Dimmer. The app allowed you to control when the screen would shut off etc.

I used it a lot because I had it set so that when the video was playing the screen wouldn?t dim but once any video would stop the brightness would either get reduced by like 50% or the backlight would be shut off after s specific amount of time.
Hope that makes sense, anyways I?m looking to see if there is an app like this for Android OS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can use the Tasker app from the market or elsewhere.

I gave it a try but for some reason the Tasker wouldn't work for me
I re-installed it several times but nothing helped. it said that profile was running when the triggering program opened but it wouldn't do anything. Maybe I'll wait till the next version of it

Screen filter. Just don't set it 100% dark our you won't be able tosee to change it back lol at least not easily
