My phone just updated Bing, KickBack (whatever that is), Books, V Cast Tones, and Gmail. I am guessing this is nothing to be alarmed about, but I have never seen it do this before.
Same here. This is ridiculous! Verizon & Google force feeding us apps via the Market!? Wtf?! Now I have 8 apps that need to be updated always, and which are going to run(I'm assuming) just boging my phone down. Just another way verizon is making sure we keep our phones new!
I just saw the same thing on my phone and immediately came to AC to check if it was a Fascinate-wide update of sorts.
Here's the list of what was updated:
VCast Tones
Superuser (WTF? Yes, I'm rooted, so it's nothing new, but still...WTF?)
Gmail
Bing
Books (New and now in my app drawer)
KickBack (New, but not in the drawer)
SoundBack (New, but not in the drawer)
Same they forced this crap on us. As I did not have auto update enabled. I quickly canceled and unchecked the update box for these new apps I didnt want. Fing verizon they piss me off more and more everyday.
It's not just Verizon. I got force-fed Nascar, Football, Facebook, Sprint TV, Sprint Music, and Qik last night. Made me so mad I rooted and deleted the bloatware.
Yep, I'm ready to attempt rooting now. If they are going to shove more bloat or bloat additions down our throats, the least they could do is give it in a gingerbread update. That way it's not a complete [moderator edit]
I'm done tolerating Verizon's attempts at making me feel like the only way to get a fast phone is to get a new phone. When in fact, they are the ONLY reason my phone is slow.
I finally took the plunge and rooted. Now i'm running the powerwashed Gingerbread from over at XDA (I believe ccampos deserves the credit). It's amazing how good this phone is when Verizon isn't forcing it to suck by putting all of there crap on it.
