Autofocus no longer working?

Little more than a week ago my H811 rear camera stopped focusing. (seems fixed at about 6")

I tried a number of different camera apps but none of those worked either, so I figured it may be the camera itself and ordered a new camera and lens cover/button surround.

No joy.

So, if it is not a hardware issue and not a problem with the camera app itself, what should I try next?

If you put the camera in "auto" or "manual" mode (not "simple") does the focus work when you tap on the screen to select the focus point?

If you have a protective case on the phone, make sure it does not block the focus window next to the lens.

I can't believe I missed your reply....

No, focus doesn't work in manual, auto or simple modes.
Front camera is fine.

My basic Ringke case does not obstruct the lens.

I think I'm going to try rolling back to 20p (from 20r) and see if that will fix it.

It's been a month and this is very frustrating.
