Automatic App Link Creation

Anyone know how to turn off the automatic app link creation when you install an application? I had this turned off before JB and now it is creating links during app installs. I thought that the setting was in either the Play store options or in setting somewhere but can't seem to find it now.

Open Google Play, hit the menu and select Settings, then uncheck "Auto-add Widgets" (even though it's really adding shortcuts).

That is what I thought as well, but it still happens even though it is unchecked. Weird... well I have been holding off on doing a factory reset since JB since I have not had any of the problems reported. (Call me lucky? I don't know..) Maybe I ought to since this one might be hard to track down.
