Automatic Backup?

I'm currently waiting on the N1 to drop on Verizon. I've read that Google could be getting automatic backup for N1 that backs up through The Cloud. I've also read a couple comment by current N1 users saying N1 already does this. An automatic/syncing backup is very important to me. Does N1 have a native syncing/backup for sms, settings, pictures, apps etc?

Syncs contacts, email, and calendars with gmail automatically. Have not heard of anything else being automatic to the cloud. There are a couple back up apps to be had on the app store. Things like pictures and videos are stored on the micro sd.

Gotcha! I have an iPod Touch and use that more than I use my phone. I need to get over the fact that its completely different from the iPod Touch/iPhone. I keep comparing the two...and it's wrong.
