Automatic On/Off like Blackberry?

OK, I'm a brand new droid incredible convert from BB Tour on Verizon. I'm discovering the few downsides, and the many upsides, of the conversion, but one of the few that I'm not happy with is this: The BB had an option to schedule on/off times for the phone, I had it turn on daily at 7:00am and off at 7:00pm. I cannot see anything similar for the droid, is there an app out there that will do this?

The other thing I'm REALLY missing is my BerryBuzz App. That allowed me to assign different color LED lights to different events, and the lights would flash until I acknowledged the item, i.e. e-mail, task, calendar, etc. Any app out there similar?

Thanks to Everyone in advance for any advice!

Jo

Nope. What exactly are your needs with the auto on/off? You can effectively achieve the same results with other approaches, depending on your answer.

I suggest just putting it in airplane mode when you sleep. The phone won't draw much power but alarms and music will still work.

I'm a BlackBerry convert as well and wouldblove to find if Android can do this as well. Especially the led color changer.

I agree with doing that to a certain extent maybe i have an app causing this I dont know but when i have it in airplane mode sometimes it barely uses any power and then sometimes it can drop 50% at worst of my battery but I use timeriffic to put it into airplane mode automatically

My needs are exactly as stated, I want the phone to turn ON at 7am and power OFF at 7pm. Pretty simple concept that my BB did without fail.

Jo...

I was in EXACTLY the same situation and here is what I learned...

- Unlike Android phones, the Blackberry goes into a deep sleep when you turn it off. This allows it to respond to ON/OFF signals sent from its brain. When you turn off an Android, it completely shuts down. I don't know if airplane mode is the solution but it sounds like it might be the closest you can get.

- I loved BerryBuzz and I miss it. Unfortunately, the Incredible's LED is the size of a pin prick, nothing like the Blackberry. I consider it useless. I have no idea why they put such a useless LED on the phone and I consider it one of the huge "negatives" of the phone (but there are many more positives).

Since it is so small, I haven't even considered using it to communicate like the Blackberry's did. However, I have been able to find apps that replicate the unique sounds and reminders. For SMS, use Handcent - it will add the reminder tones. For individual sounds for each contact, there is a good app out there but I forgot the name. It lets you customize the sounds for as many contacts as you want. Maybe someone else here can give you its name.

I have found the Incredible to handle everything the Blackberry can (except the LED) while being more customizable and fun! You'll grow to love it.

Thanks Paul. I am learning to accept the changes between the Incredible and the BB. I agree there are far more positives than negatives, in particular the ability to actually VIEW web-sites! The BB screen was so small, it was virtually impossible for me to actually use for web browsing. I miss Berry Buzz and can live without it, but I really miss my "profiles" particularly the ability to have the BB "make noise" only when a phone call comes in.
