Automatically Displaying the Caller on My Pixel 7

When I'm on a call, the screen goes dark after one minute. I'll have to wait until I call somebody to check this further.
I installed a screen protector exactly as its instructions told me. It's a plastic one rather than a glass protector. I was very careful during the installation.
When I look at it today it lies flat and covers the screen completely, and the edges are not bunched up, folded under, or crooked.
Interesting -- on some phones, a screen protector that covers the proximity sensor might inappropriately activate that sensor, although if that were the case, the screen should immediately go dark on a call, rather than staying on for a minute.

Still, it may be worth testing it with the screen protector removed. Alternatively, try this app to test your proximity sensor. If nothing is blocking it, it should read "5 cm", but if something is blocking it, it'll read "0 cm" (I tested on my Pixel Fold). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.andr7e.sensortest

I installed Sensor Test and checked the proximity sensor (along with all of the other stuff it tests.) It seems to work fine. As did all the other tests. Thank you for your help.

It doesn't look as though there is a solution to my problem so I'll just live with it.

(I had a really hard time locating that test by Andrey Efremof in the Google Play store. It just would not appear no longer how much I searched. I finally found it using "Hey Google".)

That's strange -- you couldn't find it by simply clicking the link I shared previously?

I wish we could've figured this out. You can go to the Device Health & Support section of the system settings and then Contact Support -- maybe you can reach someone at Google who can help further Good luck!
