T-Mobile Note 4.

A few weeks ago, i started getting numbers from 617 area code again. I've long blocked that area code as that's where my number (that I've had for almost 20 years now) originated, so i was bombarded daily with spam calls. I knew if anyone of importance was calling from that area code, they'd leave a message. For YEARS, this worked. I've blocked the area code itself the area code plus my first three digits, the area code plus "1-" the area code and prefix with dosages, without spaces, etc. They were all in the list that way, and it completely worked. Now, no go, and I'm one again receiving several 617 calls a day. I deleted and reset the list and nope. Something has happened, and i have no idea what. Thanks in advance for any help and advice!

Clear out your block list and set it up again. If you can block "numbers that begin with" (it seems you can), block 617 and 1617. That should block them all.

You will get at least one ring - in order to block the call, the phone has to get the callerID, and that comes between the first and second ring, so the first ring always gets through. (If you use Google Voice for your number, and have calls forwarded to your phone - and have the 617 calls blocked by GV, you won't hear a thing.)
