Back button Missing with update to April security patch?

I just updated my pixel 3xl to the April security patch this morning. I noticed the back button is missing. No matter what app I try it is not there. If I press where the back button should be it will go back to the last page or home screen or whatever I was doing last. Has anyone else noticed this with the latest pie update?
