Was loving my Note 8 but just had to try the iphone X. Got it, tried it for a few weeks. It's the best iPhone ever made but I missed the Note more than I loved the X. My daughter loves her *new iPhone X.

One thing I've learned is that I really prefer a smaller phone. I've been using Notes and iPhone + for a few years now because I bought into the "big screen" hype. I like the size of the X better than the Note 8 so the only logical thing to do is get the S9 immediately upon it's release, right??

Indeed, the most logical thing. :)

My mother got the iPhone X, gave it a go today when helping her pair it with her iWatch Series 3, and yeah, the X is a nice phone, it is indeed the greatest iPhone ever made, it's great for people looking solely for iPhone, but the X vs. Note8 or Mate10 Pro? The iPhone is a solid 3rd behind the Samsung and the Huawei.

I'm feeling the same way after using the v30 and now having a axon 7 just the usability in hand. I like more of that size and really considering the smaller S9.

The only catch with the regular s9 of course is no dual camera like the s9+, Note 8 or iPhone X. If size is more important then it's definitely the logical choice.

For me it is yes I always been a note fan but I'm not a real fan of the taller aspect that they are going with now, and if the dual camera is still portrait mode telephoto camera Im not a fan of it. Unless the make it wide angle like lg then I'll grab the plus model just for the wide angle.

It definitely doesn't hurt to try. I am testing an iPhone X right now. I won't be leaving my Pixel 2 XL but my buddy was nice enough to lend me his to try out for fun :D.

I wonder if the S9 will have 4GB RAM and the S9+ will have 6GB ?

I used the X for the better part of a month. I was using my Note along side it because it's just the better overall device for my needs. The X is a good iPhone. I still don't think it's even the best iPhone available right now. I'd still go with the 8 Plus over the X. Most Plus users I showed it to felt the same way.

I bought into the big screen "hype" (it's not hype) back with the Note 2. I would not go back to a small screen, but that's just me. I do use the big screen and SPen and missed both when I was using the X. If you don't need the big screen or SPen then get the S9. The S8 is a great phone and I'm sure the 9 will be even better.

I've used the X, Note 8, S8+ and Pixel 2 XL and can say I liked each of them but am sticking with the Pixel. The Note was good all around, took good pics, was relatively quick, had all the intangibles like expandable storage and fast wireless charging and the pen but I never used them much. Same with the S8. I liked the size of the X more than I thought I would but the phone has a lot of software issues. The Pixel works best for me because of the camera and battery life plus I love stock Android. I haven't kept an Android phone more than 3 months since the HTC One X but I think I'll break that this year with the Pixel. Loving it.

With every version of iOS it isn't until x.3 that it is acceptable. And then throw in a new design? Doubly so.
Same applies to Mac as well going back well before OS X even.
Meaning, for me, March - or later - is usually a good time to buy.

Will be curious how "X.2" and using LG OLED screens next year.

Welcome back to the evilside

Saying it's the best iPhone ever is like saying cow **** smells better than pig ****. It's still ****. :)

Welcome back to Android. I went from iPhone X to Pixel 2 XL and I find the walled in garden of iOS suffocating, despite the awesome hardware.

I absolutely love the size of the iPhone X. It fits in my small hands nicely. But the biggest drawback of a phone that size is the battery life was lacking. I was looking for a charger around 3 pm.

I found the same thing. My last Note was the Note 7. After giving it up for the second time I was fed up and just got some money back by "downgrading" to the S7 (non-edge). I realized that as a guy who needs his phone everywhere in my front left pocket it was a pleasant surprise to go smaller again. I have been patiently waiting on my natural upgrade cycle to check out the S9.

I'm a front right pocket guy. The Note 8 sticks out of the top of most pockets!

I guess this must be a fashion thing. I don't have a single pair of pants that my note 8 sticks out of. Jeans, shorts, dress pants, khakis, or sweatpants. It fits in all of them without issue. It's normally in the Samsung rugged case too. Still no issues.
