Is there any way to get the keys on the front of the droid to light up, or stay lit? When I'm in a dark environment it is very difficult to find the right one I want.

Thanks,

Yes, when I first turn the Droid on it does. But it times out after a while. Can I change that?

Thanks,

If you go to settings. Under sound and display, there is a screen timeout that can be set.

But that only affects the timeout of the screen itself... not the four buttons (back / menu / home / search) that the original poster asked about.

I'm searching for an answer to this myself! If I can find a solution, I'll post it up.

the 4 buttons are controlled by the light sensor, so if you're in a dark room it should automatically turn on. The only bug I found is on first boot, the lights are always off for me until the screen times out once and i turn it back on. After that, it's all about the light sensor. Note, i'm using automatic brightness.

There are no specific settings for the menu lights.

Note, i'm using automatic brightness..

Do you think the automatic brightness setting is what controls this? I tried to let the Droid set the brightness at first, but it seemed to dim.

Still, I'll give it a shot.

Thanks!
