Back of phone sticker question?

Okay this is going to probably be an extremely silly question. My boyfriend has the s6 edge plus. When he purchased his phone, verizon put on his back screen protector over the sticker on the back and said its best to leave it on. Now my Note 7 has the same sticker, should I take it off or is it of any importance? Sorry for such a silly question...just confused as to why the verizon rep said to keep his on.

EDIT: Sorry its sideways. I am referring to the white sticker on the right .

First thing I do is remove that ugly *** thing. It gets sticky underneath though, so have an alcohol swab handy.

Take it off. Absolutely no reason to keep it on.
