My Rezound decided to stop working today. So I have to use my incredible until a replacement arrives. The problem is that I have to go through assurion because the screen was already cracked and I know that the store won't replace it without charging me for a new device. My phone worked perfectly prior to today and when I did a restart all that I saw was the white HTC screen. Definitely a sucky way to start the weekend. But I almost forgot how well my rooted incredible worked. Still sucks though.

So your Rezound screen was already cracked? The being stuck at the white HTC screen is probably something we could have helped fix....cracked screen is a different story.

My dad still uses my OG, launch day Incredible and it still runs like a top (thanks to some rooting and hackery). You just can't kill that phone :)

Yeah it was cracked already. I was hoping to ride it out till the end of september. But luck was not on my side.

I love that "rooting and hackery!" Cute!!

Well with Asurion you will get a brand new phone, so that will be nice because it will last you for a while if you decide you want to wait past September to get a newer model phone. :)

Yes, the Incredible truly was incredible. Still use mine for my kids to play with. I just keep it in airplane mode so the battery lasts a while. They love it. I do realize now how much faster the Rezound is. It's good to see their are still good options out there for the Dinc.

Did Verizon tell you they would not accept the phone because of the cracked screen?

When my OG DInc stopped working, Verizon accepted it - dinged screen and all. A ding may be different than a crack, but either way the phone would need a new screen & refurb before being sent out again.

if you just want to fix the white screen, call htc, they will fix it under warranty free. You would have to pay for shipping it to them , but it would be much cheaper than paying for deductible through asurion. Of course, they won't fix the cracked screen for free...

Yes. My screen was cracked prior to the white screen. I didn't want to take a chance and have them send out another device and bill my account the full price of the
Rezound. I will get the Insurance replacement and see how it goes.

I was thinking the same thing. I will probably buy a newer device during that time at full price. I don't want to give up my unlimited data plan yet. LOL.

Got my replacement Rezound yesterday. Came on gingerbread but I quickly updated it to Ice Cream Sandwich. Running good for the 1st 12 hours so far except that the bluetooth lost connection a few times. I am glad to be back to the Rezound.
