Back up Robo Defense game data before 2.1 update - Possible?

This might be a strange request, but my dad has the Samsung Moment and it's still running Android 1.5. I want to upgrade him to 2.1, but he refuses to do that unless I can guarantee that he'll keep all of his progress in Robo Defense. Is this possible at all?

Yes, progress is saved automatically. Ive flashed roms countless times and reinstalled the app and have never lost progress. I think it saves the info on a file on the sdcard, so if you reformat that you'll want to make sure its backed up
