back up Voice Recorder app?

Samsung Voice Recorder App, on a Verizon Note 8

Ever since I started storing voice recordings on the SD card, Google backup seems to ignore the data. (Note that Samsung Cloud doesn't seem to know about Voice Recorder at all - unlike other Samsung Apps).

Suggestions?

First, restart the phone. If the voice recording is a recognized media file type, Media Scan will put it in the database, and that might make Backup back it up. If not, add that folder to your Drive app as a folder to sync.

Re. restarting the phone: Have done that lots of times. Hasn't changed anything.
Re. syncing folders - not a big Drive user. Do I recall that Drive doesn't do folder sync - that you need a 3rd party app? If Drive does sync - how do I configure it (all I can find are commands to upload individual files or groups of files). If I need a 3rd party app - any suggestions?
