Backdating an update

Other than the 6 vs. 4 quick applications, I can't see any difference between the Spring 2018 update and the previous one. With the update, the battery life has been cut by 40%. Is there anyway to go to a previous build?

Just like with a phone, once it has been updated you cannot roll back unless a ROM based on a previous version is flashed. With the stock system options you can't.
