Since update and reroot I am unable to back up my TWRP to PC. I keep getting Unspecified Error error copying file or folder. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Had no issues before update. I use WugFresh 1.6.6 for rooting and installing TWRP.

Rerooted with 1.7.0 still won't copy.

Hi, Rick McCann...

You don't specify which version of TWRP you have installed, but I had a similar issue a couple of weeks back, where NANDROID backups wouldn't copy to my PC, either using Drag'n'Drop MTP in Windows or using ADB Pull in a DOS command box. (It was ADB that give me the clue, as I was receiving 'permission denied' on some, but not all, of the files that make up a single NANDROID).

Rooting (sorry:)) around on the XDA TWRP thread I found these posts....

[RECOVERY] TWRP 2.6.0.0 touch recovery [2013-07-08] - Page 110 - xda-developers

[RECOVERY] TWRP 2.6.0.0 touch recovery [2013-07-08] - Page 111 - xda-developers

So it seems TWRP v2.6 'breaks' file permissions that prevent NANDROIDs from being copied... they wouldn't even copy using ADB pull. And according to some reports, they won't even copy to cloud based services like DropBox, Google Drive etc.

I got around the problem by fastboot flashing backing to an earlier version; TWRP v2.5... and so far, I've had no problem copying any NANDROID backups to my PC created with v2.5.

So, in conclusion...

I don't think your problem has anything to do with WugFresh or root, the most likely explanation is a bug in the latest TWRP v2.6.

Hope this helps.

Rgrds,
Ged.
