Backup not working

When I erased data and reset after the Android 10 update I discovered that Backup process has been stalled on my pixel 3 XL and that I had no backup.

After an hour with support they could only get it to work by turning off screen lock, which of course is not viable.

Anyone else having this issue? Just go into backup settings and check if the entries say "waiting to backup" then you have the problem

Everything on mine is 2 hours, 5 hours, or yesterday. Told it to do a backup. We'll see how that goes.

OK, progress here. About 30 hours after I hung up on Google support I rechecked my phone and it shows everything as backing up except for SMS Text Messages. I guess I can live with this, since Verizon can restore my text messages. It does seem odd that Android backup doesn't work perfectly.

Any way to test that Backup files are good???
