Backup?

I had a buddy tell me when I activated the phone, it would prompt to backup stuff? I never got this screen, even after I did a factory reset. My phone went haywire and ended up having to reset to factory.

Nah, if your contacts are saved under google, those get backed up. And you can redownload the apps from the market immediately after performing a factory reset and signing back into your google account. Go to Market after setting up a wifi network (you can do it over 3G/4G, too if you forget). Texts are lost, pictures are on your SD card, so you're good (unlike Palm *cough*)

Also, check out "astro" (free app in market) for creating a backup of los of device settings on your sd card.

A free app to backup your market stuff, without having to re-download every app separately is "app brain"

i like mybackuppro because it does an auto scheduled backup every day or week at a time of your choosing ie 2am.

probably, it will also let you save docs to the sd card if the developer allows you to.

Doesn't matter, they should all show up the first time you access the market immediately after setting up your info. They are linked to your e-mail, so you must use the same gmail acccount, and you cannot restart the phone before doing so.

Yeah unfortunately did not come up for me. Maybe I did something wrong.. dunno

dunno, just did it on my hero. Flash a new ROM a couple of minutes ago and everything was back up on the Market. Maybe it doesn't work for just clearing the data?
