bad battery?

Hi All,

I just picked up a refurbished N5 yesterday. I've previously had two N4s, both suffering from failed screens after drops. Man, what great phones, though...

So this N5 seems like it might have a bad battery, I think. It takes ages to charge -- right now the battery is on 39%, plugged into my computer and the phone is telling me it'll take 7+ hours to reach full charge. It also loses about 1% every few minutes sitting unplugged with the screen off.

Attached is a screenshot of battery usage. I was surprised this morning to see the phone on 24% after being off-charger for only a few hours.

The phone is running Android 5.1.

Bad battery?

Thanks,
Toby.

Bad network signal and it's awake almost all the time, two things that eat battery like crazy. Turn the phone off and see how long it takes to charge. If it's more than 2 hours, and it's a charger that supplies at least 1.5 Amps and works with other phones, I'd suspect the battery.

Otherwise, I'd suspect both the signal strength (which could be just a loose antenna contact or it could be something more serious) and whatever is keeping the phone awake (use Wakelock Detector to find out and if the phone isn't rooted, see Wakelock detector with non-rooted phone).
