Badge Count Notifications

Looking for some recommendations on an app that will give me Badge Count Notifications without using a 3rd party launcher.

You don't as far as I know. The badge counts are a feature of the launcher. So you can't overlay badge counts on icons if the launcher doesn't support it.

You could try Notifyer Unread Count. It replaces the app shortcut icon with a 1x1 widget that looks just like the icon, but with a badge.
