Badge icon notifications

I finally succumbed to all the Android hype and switched from iOS. I cannot believe how a simple thing like being able to disable individual app icon notification badge counters isn't available like the iPhone! Are you kidding me...isn't this OS supposed to be so customizable? Even if I have app notifications completely disabled in the app and on the notification settings, the badge counter keeps on a ticking. Tried the disabled pro app, if I wanted to disable the app I would uninstall it. This S7 Edge is so much slicker than the iPhone, except for the antiquated notification settings.
Rant over...is there any other app that would fix this?

Get nova launcher prime. The customization is endless.

Try a different launcher like Nova. Don't know why you'd not want to know an a per app basis, but the option is definitely available in the OS

Badge icons are a launcher dependent feature. Just get a launcher that supports it. As mentioned, Nova does it, but it's a paid feature. Other launchers like Go has it free. These launchers also come with more features than stock.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for Android but you CAN disable icon badges on iOS.

Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap on Notifications.
Scroll down and find the app you'd like to disable app icon badges for and tap on it.
Turn the option for Badge App Icon to Off.

Sorry. But it is the simplest thing.
