Ban on Droid phones in India?

Yesterday I called Verizon Global and was told that there is a ban on Droid Phones in India because they do not display when you switch networks. Does anyone know anything about this rumor?

This is the first time I've heard of this but I don't have a hard time believing it. BlackBerry had a similar issue in India not too long ago and they had to change a few things to prevent the ban.
