Banner Notifications.

Its been a while since I used Android and I noticed a difference with banner notifications. I may be wrong, but didnt android use to flash what the notification was in the status bar? When using my phone, a message comes in and the corresponding icon shows up it the stutus bar, but I cant see anything specific about the alert. Like New Email from So and So.

Am I crazy or did this behavior change?

You mean across the top in the status bar? That has been removed from the OS since Lollipop, as I recall.

You get the new drop down banners now for apps set as priority notifications

Ok, good. So any app can be set to priority notifications?

You can check in settings>notifications the extent of what you can control as it may vary depending on device manufacturers.

Might be Marshmallow. Can't remember. Thinking about it more, LP may have been where ridding the message preview was where it was starting to happen.
