Barcode scanning with the Transformer 300

I downloaded Norton's barcode scanner app from Google Play thinking it was a good idea to have some protection when scanning QR's with my 300T. However, it won't run -- just gives me the message that there is a problem with the camera. (The camera is working fine.) So, two questions:

1) Anyone run into the same problem with Norton's app and figure out how to fix it?

2) Recommendations for a different good, versatile & safe barcode & QR scanner app would be welcome.
