I installed an app to check lottery tickets on my new S8 and I get a message that barcode scanner is not supported on your device. Why am I getting this message?

it was the Kentucky lottery app that came with a barcode scanner to check tickets

That's weird. Go to Settings>Apps​, select the app, then Permissions, and make sure it has permission to access the Camera.
