Battery life has been good recently, however just now the phone went flat registering about 30%. Battery saver barely flashed on.
Any ideas how I can reset the indicator?

Did the phone shut itself off when it hit 30%? Did you have it off for a little bit after that occurred?

After fully charging it I'd probably run it down to 30% again and watch carefully to see exactly what happens. If it does that again your battery is probably shot.

I charged it up to about 40 % and then tried to flatten the battery. It went past the 30% mark and was down to 10 when I had to give up as I was falling asleep after my night shift. Fully charged now so will have to monitor over the next few days.

Thanks all.

I've been struggling with this problem too. Battery percentages really can't be trusted. My 6p (running 7.1.1 DP) makes it to 15% then battery saver comes on ever so briefly then it shuts down. If I plug it in before restarting then the battery will still register incorrectly at restart. If I try to turn it on again right after it shuts down without plugging in, it won't fully restart, then I plug it in and restart, and only then will the battery show that it's at single digits when it restarts. I know it's not good to run the battery so low, but I'm a frequent traveler and just don't have a choice. If this keeps up much longer, I'm going to have to give up on the 6p.

I hear you. It's unfortunate that someone hasn't invented a technology that would allow travelers to take along a small, portable device which, when connected to a phone/tablet, would allow it to recharge. Maybe someday...

Well, I'm on my way home from a work trip right now. I did indeed charge my phone with one of those newfangled portable batteries in the middle of the day. Just now, after eight hours of use, the phone died unceremoniously at 14%.

Nougat update has screwed 6p battery in several ways. One is battery spike. And the other is very poor life.

I just ran my 6P down to 10% with no strange shutdown behavior. Note that I don't have Battery Saver turned on, so if that has something to do with the issue then I've avoided it. Running 7.1.1 (NPF10C).

My battery started draining badly this last week. Appears to be related to the Now Cards. Turned that off and it lasts all day again

Happened to me today. I went out running, and 2 hrs 10mins later my phone died as I was saving my workout. Right as it got to 30 it just died. This time it was Facebook at 17% battery consumption. Last time it was Bluetooth. This is a weird issue.

Do you also have Battery Saver enabled?

Might be worth turning that off and trying to repeat the issue.

Are you on 7.1.1 or 7.0?

I do have it on. However during the week, I'll run my phone down to 20% or so and it never replicates. It's only done it after I've run, and I go to save my workout. Idk what it is. This time it was fB dragging the battery down, it did just update, so that's probably why.
