Need some insight before I commit to buy this phone. I've been reading reviews on the v30 and the concerns I have are battery life through the day not great. Camera on auto not great and screen issues on early models.
Please let me know how battery is holding up for you guys through the day,
How camera on auto performs and if LG had issues with the screen, thanks.

I leave the house with 100% battery and come home 12 hours later with 80% after a day of light use. Even with intermittent heavy use I've never got the battery down to 70%.

Its easily the best battery experience I've ever had. I barely use fast charge. At home I just top-up with old Belkin wireless charging pads scattered around the house, for a little top-up while in the shower and cooking before going out.

I could never use the charging pads on previous phones. The previous phones drained too much throughout the day to make slow wireless pads feasible, which was a bummer because they are quite nice to use.

Battery and DAC quality are revolutionary here.
Battery has become a complete non-issue thanks to v30+. Which, as a long-time Samsung user is shocking to me.

No screen issues. No funny tint of any kind. It's a gorgeous very impressive screen but still not as jaw dropping as Samsungs saturated contrasty screen. But surprisingly close with better detail than my old Galaxy S6 Edge, and nicely saturated colors.

But the camera IMO is a disappointment. I may have gotten spoiled, it is after all a camera that takes quite nice photos right from my phone...but Samsung was better in this regard imo, in auto-mode. I've heard others say they love it. I have not had any luck and I've taken my usual few hundred pictures in the last few months with it.

Somehow every picture that I take in automatic mode, the ones that aren't completely blurry, one thing somewhere on the screen will be fairly sharp but most things are blurry to some extent.

I agree the battery life is stellar. My screen is just fine, not as over-saturated as the Galaxy S7 edge that preceded it, which I actually prefer. The main camera isn't as good in low light as the GS7 was (not horrible, but not as good), but perfectly fine in good light. The wide angle camera is great though. I didn't think I'd use it, but it has come in handy on several occasions.

The battery life of my V30 is great. With medium use, it lasts all day.
The screen is great.

I have no complaints against the camera. While it is not the best available, I find it more than adequate as a cel phone camera when in auto mode; I have no problems running it in manual mode when I need. I have DSLRs available for important pictures or those in difficult lighting circumstances.

I love the camera but my battery life - when I first got it, all day easily. Lately it's been a bit less stellar. But I am a battery jinx.

Having considered the V30 for myself, I've watched a lot of review videos. Battery and screen are great. Camera, from what I recall, is good. Of course, camera ratings are often subjective and you'll get a great experience with phones like Samsung and the Pixel 2 line; so if you're really into camera performance, perhaps watch a few more review videos of the V30 to see if camera/photo quality is to your liking.

I had one for a bit... Screen was good, battery life was excellent.

Camera was inconsistent. In good lightning it took great pictures, but in less than ideal conditions it really struggled... Due to its small sensor, it had to take longer exposures and rely too heavily on post processing. So static objects looked sterile, lacking texture, and faces were always either blurry or smudged... It was useless indoors and at night if I wanted a usable picture of my kids.

Wow, actually have become impressed with the v30 camera since getting the Oreo update.

I don't really know how to speak about camera settings or picture quality in any kind of articulate or well-informed way, but it seems like since getting the update which, includes new camera features, including AI camera, the pictures I've taken outside have become a bit better.

The "auto-mode" while in AI mode is actively switching camera settings right before my eyes to best fit the scenario I'm shooting in.

There were some gorgeous clouds over the ocean and rain clouds in the distance it was just an amazing scene. When I turned on AI it changed the settings and what I saw on the viewfinder and I started snapping photos and got some good ones, and plenty of blurry bad ones. At least some good ones are in there though.

As far as battery goes, at first, I was going a whole day of moderate to heavy use and ending up with about 40% at bedtime. That's outstanding. Then I added greenify and now I can go the day and end up with 60-70% at bedtime. Incredible. My screen has been beautiful from day 1 and still is. And I'm coming from the galaxy S7 EDGE. My pics in auto mode have been great inside in low light and fantastic outside. So pull the trigger dude.

Ye, Greenify is nice. It lets you put nearly every app to sleep/hibernate.

I'm able to have just over 70% an hour so before bedtime, which means I could forget to charge the phone and still be ok. I keep the v30 charging cable in the car, and top-up with charging pads. It's crazy. I could never do that with Samsung and always had to make sure I could find an outlet somewhere half way through the day to recharge.

Unfortunately I am quite sickened by this camera experience that I am having with LG v30+.

I love this phone and wouldn't switch back to Galaxy, a phone I loved the camera on, because the battery experience on v30+ is so amazing that I'd hate to deal with excessive battery drain again.

I'm on vacation now and the gf and I were driving along a rocky cliff overlooking the ocean and saw an incredible scene of of a sunset and pulled over to snap photos. Her photos on her iphone7 plus without any effort other than point and click were stunning, breathtaking and could be made into posters or postcards. And she could just scroll through different camera looks without going and toggling controls. Really impressive.

Mine on the v30, looked terrible as always, even with AI mode, and to get different looks meant toggling around manual mode which I didn't have time for. Blurry lusterless pictures that had no redeeming qualities at all. Will only keep one or two for memories but certainly all were junk as far as picture quality is concerned.

That has been my experience, coming from Galaxy S4 and S6, both which were great but not as impressive as iPhone. I hope others aren't having this same experience.

Actually though, the fact that I'd hate to switch to another phone, at this time, I think says a lot about how lovely the v30+ experience is, all of the little things I like about this phone combined outweigh what in my experience has been the worst camera I've had on a smartphone since I owned really low end LG Tribute 1 and 2 phones, both of which were a delight to use for their good feel in the hand and ease of use and good interface but with potatoe style cameras.
