battery capacity issues/possibly update related

So today I got the 4.2.2 pushed OTA. When it finished, the battery display was about 70%. I went through some vacation photos on my sd card using the standard Gallery app, and the battery dropped from 70% to 5% in a matter of about half an hour. Of course then it kicked over to the dim power-saving screen, which made it impossible to see my photos.

I thought iI would force it to drain completely and then do a full charge, and even got it down to 1%, but it's taking nearly an hour of playing a movie to drain that last 1% - it just shut down as I typed this.

I suspect my battery level detection calibration is out of whack. How would I go about resetting it?

Before trying to troubleshoot give the device a few charge cycles. If the problem persists then consider a factory reset (after backing-up any important data) and see if the battery shows signs of improvement after a few cycles.

One of the two suggested above would fix, or improve, your current battery life.

just updated mine.. it was at 74 percent.. did the update and now says must be charged.. at 10 percent when i checked it after plugging it in... also lost the quick bar on the side... so far DO NOT LIKE THIS UPDATE..
lost my home page... lost my pictures and weather that took up that page.. it is completely gone.. was just a slide show but widget or whatever is GONE.
so. how do i get the side bar back... holding the back button is not making it come on.
if i do a restore will it go back to like it WAS.. where it worked and stuff????
