Battery charged notification after JB update

So after the JB update I lost the live wallpaper I was using, but no biggie I switched to bubbles with a black background and green-ish hue.

I enabled the "Battery Full notification" setting so the phone notifies me when the battery charge is complete. That no longer works correctly after the JB update. What happens now is, I get the notification only after I turn on the screen. Anyone else getting this same behavior after the JB update? I don't use my phone a ton - one charge usually lasts me 3 days. But you can really lose battery capacity if you leave your phone plugged in a long time after it has finished charging. I'd like this phone to last in good condition for the full 2 year contract and probably a year beyond. So I'm really disappointed in this bug.

No way to overcharge the phone. The device stops taking a charge when full.

I too only get the notification after I wake the screen. Late response on this but never noticed til you said something.

How do you enable (or more importantly, disable) this notification? I just got a Galaxy Note 2 running 4.1.1, and this notification is driving me crazy in the middle of the night. Google says I'm not alone. Where can I turn off this notification?

To answer my own question, you set the System volume down to zero. Apparently, the system volume is not subject to the mute/vibrate setting like all the other sounds are. You can find this in Settings / Sound / Volume. I still get the system beep when I first plug in the phone at bedtime, but at least it stays quiet the rest of the night.
