Battery drain consistency?

Can someone explain to me why the first 50% battery drain would last longer then the second 50% ?

For example : You go from 100% to 50% and you have 8 hours usage with 3 hours screen on time. You would naturally presume that you should see similar stats for the next 50% (50 -0%) given your usage is the same but for some reason you only get 4 hours usage and 1h30mins screen on time? Why is this? Happens me regularly. I feel as though the battery is great up until 50% and then from there is just starts dropping alot faster?

Just spitballing here, sounds like the phone is underestimating usage OR those apps are caught in a memory leak and it coincidentally happens after 50%.

Last but not least, it could be placebo.

Its probably as this is when your using it the most. First 50% your at work checking a few things here and there. Next 50% your usually at home on it most of the time either playing games or watching YouTube video thus he drain is quicker. That's how its is for me anyway.

The reason is batteries do not drain linearly. The percentage indicator is not an accurate representation of the battery remaining, it is simply an estimation. You will occasionally find that if you drain the phone to the last 1%, the time required to drain that last percentage will be significantly longer than it normally takes to drain 1%.

It's like your gas tank the second half always gets drain faster than the first half.
That's just how life is. I got a solar powered 10000mAh power pack and life is good.
It's like having an extra full tank of gas on reserve.
