Battery drain tips - does the weather app drain battery life?

I've been setting up my new device and have got the the weather on my lock screen but worried that this will cause battery drain? I've set the weather change interval to be six hours but wondered shall I turn this off completely as it could have an impact on the battery?

On my Motorola Moto X with the Weather Underground widget the battery drain is minimal to nonexistent.

Try it and see. Experiment with the various settings. You're not going to blow it up.

Mine is set to "Update as needed".

Any app syncing will use battery power. I have it disabled because I prefer Weather Bug instead, but I suspect the drain would be negligible.
