Battery Drain with extended battery

I'm running Cleanrom GB and have the extended battery. An example of how bad its going. This morning I woke up with a fully charged battery. 8 min later I was at 97% after only checking my texts. 20min I was at 83% after a phone call using Bluetooth. No Widgets at all. Nothing updating in the background. In fact, just while typing this post I've lost 3% of battery. Should I wipe the phone and try a new install of the rom or return the battery?

This morning in 2hrs I've lost 30% with light usage. This is ridiculous.

What's your screen brightness set at? I notice that when I don't set the brightness to auto, the screen can eat up quite a bit of the battery just adjusting some settings, checking email, or texting. Also, have you checked to see if there are any apps that are draining your battery? For awhile, Facebook did nothing but drain the battery because it was a background app and used to be 14 plus MB. Hope you have some luck getting better battery life.

I have the extended battery and am experiencing the same thing with clean ROM. Battery life is disgusting. I can't make it a whole day on one charge....not even close. The ROM is awesome though so I'm still using it for now.

Couple questions

How old is the battery? If new, life gets better after a couple of recharge cycles

How long has the rom been installed? Same thing, after a few days, the OS will figure your usage and things will get better

When you flashed, did you wipe cache-dalvik-factory reset? If no, dirty flashing is a no no.

What is your screen on time? Light usage means really nothing, as everybody has different expectations of usage. My regular battery will make it just under 3 hours of screen on time in the day on Scotts CLeanROM developer edition (same base)

Games? Angry Birds takes about a percent a minute to play I think

Battery is 3 weeks old, Rom has been on here for 2 weeks and was a clean install. screen time shouldn't affect it this bad. I have brightness so low I almost can't read anything unless its cloudy out. No games. Yesterday I was on ESPN.com for 3min and watched the battery drop 4%. I've adjusted every battery saving option I can. I called Verizon and they said to stop at a store and they will try to figure out if its the battery or phone. I'm going to go back to the stock Rom first and see if that helps.

What are your full to empty Times? These few percent changes are very subjective, especially right after you take it off the charger because the phone let's it trickel done a bit from 100%. Someone that has it can give you better info, but I would expect you to be getting 20 hours Plus out of the extended battery

try to use the stock battery to see how the battery life is. The extended battery should get about 70% longer life than the standard. if not, then there may be a problem with the battery. at least that way, you can see if it's a battery problem or a phone problem.

same issue, running the same ROM in fact, I can fully charge, unplug and immediate 98%, check email, texts... 94%. amazing how fast it goes and I have the brightness set to mid.

I have the Optimus V with a clean install of CM7, new extended battery, no widgets, no FB, I don't watch videos or play music. Battery drains to 50% after about 2 hours. I followed a variety of clear battery stats to the letter and nothing has worked. Very disappointed and frustrated.

Perhaps you should try the optimus forums.
