Battery Drain

I did a test this past weekend to see what the actual usage battery drop-off would be for a long trip. In an approximate 45 minute drive, I lost 15% from a full charge. That would lead me to believe that you could get in the range of 5 hours drive time before the phone would be dead. LG G4 and a 2016 Hyundai Sonata.

I'm very surprised. Using my Nexus 6 and Google Maps for navigation (via AA), on a 10 hour trip, I started the trip at about 80% charge and finished at 100%. 2016 Chevrolet.

MD player ws running. I'm not sure of the charging requirements on what phones you are using. The LG G4 requires 2.1 not 1.2. The phone will charge but it's a slow charge. The car doesn't put out sufficient power for a full charge. It's like charging from a laptop.

I tried using my old LG G2 to see what would happen. When I plugged into the USB, it immediately identified it as "slow charge". Somehow, after an hour drive, the battery was at the same percent as when I began. That solves my problem for a long distance drive. This still isn't a good solution, that if your phone's charging demands are greater than the low output, you're out of luck.
