AC Question

The battery drainage problem began a week ago while staying at a friend's and using their network. Once I'd leave their home my phone would recharge fully, until I returned to their home where it would drain (again, even while being charged). My friends said the same pattern has been happening to them. (Oddly enough, the same thing has been happening to my ex-mother-in-law's phone for the past few months.) Last night I was back at my place, using my own network, and this morning it had drained while being charged. When I looked at my iPhone usage, there was a lengthy message beginning with: "MobileSoftwareUpdate.UpdateBrainService'. Is this an indication of spyware? A virus? What advise do you have?

You are probably overpressuring the phone while it is charging. Sometimes manufacturers give a 0.2A charger which is very little. Check if your charger has an output of 1A or more if it is less it is possible that the charger is weak. Try USB charging it might be better.

Use Ampere when the phone isn't connected to the charger - that's how much current the phone uses internally. Now look at the Output line on the charger - it has to be at least that much. If it's not, you need a charger with more output. Standard chargers today are 1500-2000mA.
