Hi everyone.

I got an Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT- I9505) for the past one and half years and since yesterday, I'm having a problem with the phone. I was calling someone and after I hanged up the battery was around 54 percent. Then after ten minutes the phone was getting hotter and I disabled all possible apps including Wi-Fi. I decided to turn it off and then I noticed even it is switched off, the smartphone was hotter than ever. The battery drained completely and when I charged it it took me at least 3 hours to get a full charge.

I want to know if anyone ever experienced that and if possible, is the battery which is the cause or the phone's hardware which is the concern here. Thank you if anyone knows the answers.

I hope I get a reply soon. Thanks.

Turn the phone off. Charge the battery. Take the battery out. Leave it out overnight. Put the battery back in and turn the phone on. See if the battery is at less than 98% charge or so. If it is, it's a defective battery. If not, there's probably a failed component in the phone (a leaky capacitor) and the phone needs to go to a shop (where they'll probably change the motherboard, so make sure you have everything backed up).

Thank you dear for the reply.

I removed the battery and left it out overnight. Upon charging afterwards, it did not even complete full cycle, it stopped at 99 percent. When I put the battery again, the phone becomes hot again and after one hour the battery is dead.

Is it the battery or the motherboard? Replacing the battery would be much cheaper than the motherboard as looking on the web, the motherboard costs around 100 dollars.

Can you please confirm as nearby I don't have local retailers and I have to go far away to check it at a shop.

Thanks mate.
