Battery got fat

Well the last two months I have this problem. My battery has gotten fat, not very much but you can notice it easily. Because of it my phone restarts itself several times a day. It might go from 60% to 3% and then go back to 55%.
It drives me crazy. And the thing is that the first time it happened I replaced the battery with a new one but it got fat too in less than a month. What have I done is that it stopped charging with the original Samsung charger and I started using various cables and the charger must always be above 5.3V-5.5V.
There was a time that it started smoking from where I was putting the cable and so i changed it. I'm afraid of my battery blowing up. And getting new batteries all the time is not the best solution. Any help?

Sound's bad. Was the smoke coming from the phone connector? Does the phone connector look visually burnt? I'm guessing the cable must have burnt too. Something may have gone wrong with the charging circuitry after the smoke incident and it may not be regulating the charge anymore, thus causing your batteries to not charge correctly, possibly overheat, and swell. You should probably take your phone to a repair shop to have the port checked out or replaced. If you live with it, you may end up just ruining more batteries, or worst case, have a fire at some point. If it were me, I would take it in very soon. Better safe than sorry!
