Battery Heat

Occassionaly my Droid Bionic gets hotter than normal (can feel it hotter and my battery app shows a higher temperature). This does not seem to be happening when I am busy using the phone but happens when "nothing" is happening and my phone may have been unused for a while.

I am guessing that what ever is happening is wasting battery life so I was wondering if there is an easy way to find out what is going on that causes the increased temperature (maybe a different battery app or specialized program).?

Download the program called Android Assistant. There you can monitor what program is consuming the most battery. If you run any live wallpapers, you will find that they will consume a great portion of battery power.
