So does this indicate that i might of received a defective unit? or is this how the battery is?
IMO gsam is adding to your problem, I usually get at least 4 hours SOT and have gotten close to 8 a couple times. Try
LG's package disabler and disable any bloatware. I'm posting a list of everything I've disabled, fair warning it's pretty aggressive so be absolutely sure you don't need it before disabling in case your system requires a particular package on this list (mine doesn't). The main target should be Quick Memo, unless you use it of course.
