How are users reporting 5-7 hours of SOT after 12+ hours of usage on battery and im only managing 3 hours and a half or 4 hours at most with 12 hours of usage. I dont do anything intensive but read some articles online and watch some YouTube. Im sure i dont have any battery sucking apps.

Welcome to Android Central! Thank you for sharing these screenshots. Within that same battery diagnostic section, you should also see a list of your top battery-draining apps. Please post that screenshot as well! Do you have auto-brightness enabled?

Are you always draining your battery so far? If so, it could simply be that it's gone bad. Li-ion batteries don't handle deep discharges well (below about 25%), and doing so in every charge can kill them off quickly.

I regularly run my phones down to below 10%, even 5%, haven't had any battery degradation problems 🤷

There's always exceptions to the rules, but doing that consistently will kill off the average battery quicker than keeping with the happy medium of 40-80%.

Its a brand new phone
This may be part of it. It does take a bit for the phone to get set up and understanding your usage habits for more efficient running. If this is an upgrade from another phone, most people use new phones a lot in the beginning setting everything up and exploring. That's why it's not really a good idea to judge a phone's battery right at the start.

Give it a week to break in and let some of the newness wear off and see how it goes then. If it's already been a week or so and this is still what you're getting, then you may have a defective battery (hey, it can happen to any phone). Before you exchange it, may as well factory reset it and see if that does anything. I wouldn't expect it to, but I guess it's possible something glitched during the setup. You'll want to reset it before you take it back anyway.

So does this indicate that i might of received a defective unit? or is this how the battery is?

IMO gsam is adding to your problem, I usually get at least 4 hours SOT and have gotten close to 8 a couple times. Try LG's package disabler and disable any bloatware. I'm posting a list of everything I've disabled, fair warning it's pretty aggressive so be absolutely sure you don't need it before disabling in case your system requires a particular package on this list (mine doesn't). The main target should be Quick Memo, unless you use it of course.
