This morning after charging my S7 overnight I noticed that the charging icon is at the top of my screen as if the phone is plugged in and charging. I was at 100% when I unplugged it and it is draining normally. I googled this and see it happening on other phones but there solution it to turn off the phone, take out the battery (can't on an S7)?? Clean the area with a pin and bend up a prong in the charging port?? There were warnings NOT to do this with the battery in causes a short or a surge that ruins the connection??. So I am at a loss as to what to do since I can't remove the battery. Maybe I can find a small piece of plastic to bend it up??

Help Please also if anyone has an extreme closeup of the port that would be great so I can see what I am supposed to bend up? Thx

If you don't know what you're doing, my recommendation is DO NOT bend or disassemble the port in any way. I cannot stress this enough. You can try turning the pone off and cleaning the port with a soft brush or short bursts of compressed air to see if anything lodged in there is causing the malfunction.

Try also booting up in Safe Mode (to rule out that a third party app is causing the misinformation to display) and turning Fast Charging off.

Is your phone, otherwise, charging properly?

Hello SpookDroid, I did some more investigating on the icon and also took a screenshot and edited it so I could see it better.. Evidently this icon is the power saving icon lol.....so luckily I don't have a battery saving issue as I thought Thx for your help.
