battery indicator working wrong

on my Sony Ericsson Neo L....the battery option in settings is showing how much time passed after it was plug out of charger.......but i think it should show how much time the phone will run on current battery.....help please

Have you tried restarting it?

not only restating....i rest it 5 times... remove battery ...purchased a new batty ....i have done juss everything...my frndz says main problem is the ICS i should update to JELLY BEAN

There may be a problem with the vetsion of Android you are on.
