Battery issue

My bionic is rooted and for some reason at time seems to think its battery is suddenly dead. By that i mean the red light comes on and the screen turns off ( not the phone though) but the battery bar in my banner says its at around 60%. Im on the stock rom but how can i fix this. It does not always occur but its starting to occur more often now.
