Battery issues recently?

The past few days I've been getting less battery life than I usually get, with the same usage pattern. Usually when I get out of work after 10 or 11 hours, I'll be at 60-70%. Recently only 30-40%. Used two different battery monitors and they both are telling me that android system is using A LOT more than I've ever noticed. Using more battery percentage than my screen and my cell radio. I haven't changed my usage much at all. I did get nova prime and just started using it but I don't think that would effect it that much. It really seems like it's draining almost twice as fast, and it seems somethin in the Android System is causing it. I got a few Samsung account updates in the past week, anyone think that could be it? Or have any ideas or experiencing similar issues?

I just got my phone and the updates. My phone is not used during the day. WiFi and sync are off. At 530 my battery has only maybe 1/3 left. This is a problem.

Same here, I thought maybe I was using it more recently. What is a good app to monitor what is using the most of the battery over a days time?

If you just got your phone I would make sure that some of the settings that come turned on by default are turned off. I'm pretty sure nfc is on by default, motion settings were on I think. Make sure if you don't use svoice too much that the wakeup command is disabled. Screen brightness to a decent level. I would just go through your settings and make sure these things are not on and just look around in there and make sure anything else that will use some battery is turned off.

I use gsam battery monitor. It's pretty good, detailed list of exactly what apps are using power, and services. Has some useful features like you can set it to base your remaining battery life on the last 15 mins or 30 mins of use. I used to use battery widget reborn! (beta), but started using gsam because it has more detailed battery information.

NCF was off. Turned off smart alert. I was already using power saver and my screen brightness is barely on. Will see if anything changes.

I am thinking the update we got last week (or was that early this week?) may be part of the issue. I began to notice it the next day. I have found if you force stop Google Maps it helps. the first day, I was out of battery at 5PM (normally make it to about 11PM with 30%. Next day I force stopped maps (GSam Battery monitor showed excessive usage of that app) and was much better. It's after 10PM here and I am at 50%. Maybe the update and Maps dont play nice. Just a thought.

Yeah good point that could be what's going on here. It's weird though because over the past week or so it's gotten better but like every other day I'll notice it starts draining again.
